Welcome Message From TBIS

Following the great successes of TBIS 2008 and TBIS 2009 in Hong Kong, TBIS 2010 in Shanghai, it gives me immense pleasure to extend a warm invitation to you to participate TBIS 2011. TBIS 2011 is the 4th International Symposium of Textile Bioengineering and Informatics to be held in Beijing, China from 27th-29th May, 2011 at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology with a theme on “Advanced Textiles, Fashionable Industry” . The purpose is to promote multi-disciplinary approach of creative design and technology innovations for a healthy, highly developed, trendy, fashionable and sustainable lifestyle.
 
Textile bioengineering is a promising tassel area of research that integrates physical, chemical, mathematical, computational sciences and engineering principles to study how fibre, textiles and fashion affect human biology, medicine, behavior and health.
 
TBIS 2011 symposium is an outstanding forum for researchers, students and professionals across the globe – to meet and exchange their ideas and perspectives. It also aims to set up a unique global stage and platform for people in the whole supply chain/community of fibre, textiles and fashion with common interests in providing high quality products and services. It also brings excellent opportunities for both academic researchers and industrialists to discuss new ideas, identify new products/ technologies/ services/ markets and obtain good recognizable achievements.
 
Aside from the opportunities afforded by the symposium’s working sessions, you will also have the chance to experience a myriad of Beijing’s tourist and cultural attractions.

The fourth Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Symposium (TBIS 2011) will be held in Beijing, which is organized by Textile Bioengineering and Informatics Society and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and operated by School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Fashion Art and Engineering, School of Art Design, Business School and School of Informatics Engineering. Mean while, the conference is co-organized by China Textile Press, China Textile Information Center, Beijing Textile and Clothing Industry Committee, Beijing Textile Engineering Committee, Beijing Clothing Technical Service Center, Beijing Key Lab of Clothing Material Development and Evaluation, Research Base of Beijing Clothing Culture and Industry. TBIS 2011 will be held in Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology from 27-29 May, 2011.
 
Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology holds the School Philosophy as “Seek Truth and Be Creative, Apply the knowledge” and the School Characteristic as “Performing-Arts Integration”. The institute builds a multidisciplinary coordinated development pattern such as united advantage subjects and unique subjects, basic subjects and applied subjects as well as traditional subjects and new subjects. Institute now has a total of more than 8,000 school students, more than 400 full-time teachers. Institute also has two special subjects listed by Ministry of Education, three city-level research institutions and one costume museum which is one of the national “Top Ten” featured museums. Institute also won the Second Place in National Science and Technology Progress Award for three consecutive years and took over clothing design for 2008 Olympic Games, Torch Relay, China Athletes, Ritual Girls and 36 Parade Teams in 60th anniversary of National Day. The institute is highly valued by the society.
 
TBIS2011 builds a platform for academic exchanges and a friendly gathering for you and also is an open stage for multipurposes such as academic achievement, understanding advanced academic knowledge, seeking cooperative opportunities and finding talented people.
